Beer Burgers

Wednesday nights we have been enjoying The Comedy Zone at Cypress Grill and last night was no different!  We both had hamburgers for dinner but these weren't your ordinary burger - uh huh!  They were bacon cheeseburgers with grilled portabella mushrooms!  I had swiss cheese on mine and hubby went for the smoked gouda   Don't they look yummy?

Ok, so I don't make my burgers exactly like the Grill does but mine are pretty darn good too!

Beer Burgers

2 lbs ground sirloin
2 oz Beer - whichever kind you drink
1 tbs Steak seasoning - whichever is your favorite (or you can use Lipton Onion Soup
 Mix)
Cheese
Lettuce
Sliced Tomatoes
Sliced Onions
Buns
Condiments

Put the ground sirloin in a bowl and add the steak seasoning (or soup mix) and the beer and mix well with your hands.  When you have it right there will be no visible liquid in the bowl   For into 4 patties and make sure they are ab out the size of your bun or even slightly larger.  You are using ground round so these burgers will not shrink much when grilled.  Also, since it is ground round, the beer will help keep them moist since the fat content is so low.

Place each patty on the grill and leave until you have nice grill marks and the patties are about half done.
You can sprinkle with salt and pepper if you like but my grill seasoning already has these ingredients so I omit it.  Flip burgers and place cheese on the side with the grill marks.  At this point I close the lid to the grill and let cook for another 3-8 minutes.  I like mine medium which is still a little pink in the center so I only cook for about 3 minutes longer.  For well done you will want to be closer to 8 minutes

Place burger on bun and top with lettuce, tomato, and onion with whichever condiments you prefer and enjoy!
